The Nike VJ display was created as an installation for Nike Canada in collaboration with Blast Radius and Mirada. It was installed in a flagship retail store in Toronto. Nike VJ let users explore the features of two Nike shoes by merely picking them up off a stand and moving them around. It also gave users the ability to re-mix original art and music created by renowned artists James Jean, David Choe and turntablist Cut Chemist .

We provided both software and hardware development for this project. We sourced and embedded magnetic motion tracking technology in the two shoes. This technology allowed us to track all 6-degrees of motion as users interacted with the shoes. We also developed the software for the whole experience which let users remix the Cut Chemist tracks through shoe movements, and paint animated visuals on a huge 3840x4320 screen at the front of the store.
